“Christ entered once for all.” Hebrews 9 & Psalm 111

INTROIT

“[Christ] entered once for all “ Hebrews 9:12a, c, 15a; Psalm 111:9a

[Christ] entered once for all into the holy places, by means of I his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption.

Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance.

Ps. 38:1-4, 18, 22; antiphon: Is. 53:5

He was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities;* upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed.

O LORD, rebuke me not in your anger, nor discipline me in your wrath!

For your arrows have sunk into me, and your hand has come down on me.

There is no soundness in my flesh because of your indignation; there is no health in my bones because of my sin.

For my iniquities have gone over my head; like a heavy burden, they are too heavy for me.

I confess my iniquity. I am sorry for my sin.

Make haste to help me, O Lord, my salvation!

He was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes I we are healed.

COLLECT OF THE DAY

Almighty God, graciously behold this Your family for whom our Lord Jesus Christ was willing to be betrayed and delivered into the hands of sinful men to suffer death upon the cross; through the same Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen
